BOARDER WHO ROBBED HIS LANDLADY DOES LITTLE WORK Taking £lO 10s in gold from a tin box in his landlady's bedroom. Leonard Augustus Mousley. aged 38, a butter-maker, appeared at the Police Court this morning and pleaded guilty on a charge of theft. On a further charge of assaulting . Desmond Francis Cook, Mousley pleaded not guilty, and Chief-Detec-tive Hammond said that it was not proposed to call any evidence on that count. As far as the theft was concerned, Mousley had been given a few shillings by his landlady for cleaning, up her shop. He had returned the worse for liquor and stole the money from a box in her bed- ; room. It was ‘ight years since Mousley had last been before the court and he had then been sentenced to two years’ reformative detention. There was £3 10s of the money not yet recovered. “Mousley does very little work,” added the chief-detective. Accused was remanded until Thursday so that a report regarding him might be obtained.
