WELCOME TO NEW VICAR

FUNCTION AT BIRKENHEAD A social to welcome the new vicar of All Saints Church, Birkenhead, Rev. P. C. Davis, was given by the parishioners in the Parish Hall, Birkenhead, last evening. Mr. A. R. Bicknell presided. Rev. Mr. McCracken (Presbyterian), Rev. J. H. Allen (Methodist) and Canon McFanland (vicar of Northcote) extended a hearty welcome on behalf of their respective churches and said they hoped to work in unity and friendship with hiqi. Mr. R. Tozer, synodsman, extended a welcome on behalf of the parishioners. Mr. Davis, in thanking the speakers for.the splendid welcome, spoke of tne many improvements in the Borough and the progress made in Church work since his last visit to the district nine years ago, when he was vicar of Northcote. Musical items were contributed by Messrs. A, Borrows, R. Tozer, W. A. Trist and Miss Lingard.
