THREE FIRES IN ROOM

KAIAPOI HOTEL MYSTERY OUTBREAKS IN THREE DAYS (Special to THE SUN) CHRISTCHURCH, Today. Three outbreaks of fire in three days have occurred in an unoccupied room in the Pier Hotel, at Kaiapoi. The first was on Monday and the third early this morning.^ In the first a wall was slightly damaged, in the second a bed was scorched and this morning’s fire damaged a kapoc mattress, which was discovered blazing furiously. All the outbreaks have been easily extinguished. The origin of the fires is so far a mystery.
