TO GET AT GRIPS
VANCE AND ALLEY TO MEET ON MONDAY EVENING ADDITIONAL BOUT ARRANGED Keen to get into the ring with Tom Alley, “Farmer” Vance has had his wish granted, and on Monday evening the pair will meet. Alley is equally keen to get at grips with the “Farmer” once more, and as the pair are on anything but friendly terms, the bout should be the best to date. The New Zealand Wrestling Association’s next bout was set down for September 2, when Alley and Naranjan Singh w*ill meet for stakes held by The Sun, in addition to the usual percentage of the gate receipts, but as both Alley and Vance were so keen to get at grips, it was decided to match them before the other bout if possible. The Northern Boxing Association had pencilled in for Monday evening, but it was found that it w*ould not be wanting the hall on that date, and the Wrestling Association securied it. Alley and Vance were signed up immediately and are both training hard. The bout on September 2 will be held in addition to Monday evening’s contest.
