OLD-TIME DANCE
BIRKENHEAD FORESTERS ENTERTAIN FOOTBALLERS FETED The social committee of Court Birkenhead Ancient Order of Foresters, held its fortnightly old-time dance in the Victoria Hall, Birkenhead, on Saturday evening. Members of the Hamilton League football team, which had played against the Northcote team in the afternoon, were the guests of the committee. Mayall’s Orchestra supplied the dance music, extras being played by Mrs. Ripley. Air. F. Grant successfully carried out the duties of M.C. The waltz, la-rinka, valeta, and many other old-time favourites were greatly appreciated. Among those present were: Mrs. F. Grant, who chose black georgette : Mrs. E. Harkins, wearing blush pink crepe de chine with diamante trimmings; Mrs. Barnett, who wore a beige crepe de chine frock and gold lace : Mrs. W. Bloor, in a frock of shell pink and coffee lace ; Airs. A. Thorburn, who had on a black satin frock with posy: Mrs. D- Connor, in a frock of rainbow silk. „ Mrs. G. Ross, who chose black crepe de chine, relieved with red ; Mrs. J. Gracie, wearing lavender taffeta relieved with gold lace ; Mrs. Arthur Anderson, in a frock of floral geoi'gette relieved with crepe de chine : Mrs. Blackwell, wearing sea green georgette; Mrs. T. Cameron, who chose a black satin gown ; Mrs. A. Norton, in & frock of figured rayon and black satin ; Mrs. Howarth, who chose cream georgette with posy. Mrs. Fregard, whose frock was of blue georgette ; Miss G. Howarth, in peacock blue crepe de chine and silver lace : Miss G. Mentzer, who wore embossed georgette ; Miss M. Masters, wearing black panne velvet relieved with red: Miss I. Ross, who was in blush pink crepe de chine, inset with lace, posy to tone : Miss Betty Ross, who had on a salmon pink crepe de chine frock with ecru lace. Miss E. Lythge. who wore apricot satin, with an uneven hem and posy : Miss V. Thorburn, wearing salmon pink crepe de c hine with posy to tone : Miss M. Edwards, whose frock was of tangarine crepe de chine with full trimmings : Miss Copeland, who was in a frock of yellow georgette, embroidered in si Iyer: Miss N. Smith, who had on a crimson taffeta frock.
