Brandon, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. Noel Gibson, Mount St. John Avenue. Miss Forteseue, of Sydney, is at present visiting Auckland and is staying at Glenalvon. Mr. Walter Reid, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Macarthy Reid, is staying at Hotel Cargen. Miss C. Crighton Imrie, who has been staying at Courtville, has left on a visit to friends at Tailiape. Hr. Maria Allen, of Morrinsville, who returned to New Zealand by the Tainui, is among the guests at Hotel Cargen. Miss Jean Carson, Mrs. Brewer and th© Misses Williamson, who have been on a brief visit to Rotorua as the guests of Miss G. Dillon, have returned to Auckland. Mrs. N. E. Ferner, J.P., returned to Auckland yesterday morning after successfully concluding her mission to Wellington on behalf of the Community Sunshine Association, namely, that of gaining the consent of Parliament to the remission of the remaining £I,OOO debt on the Nelson Street School. WEEKLY DANCE Many Attend Yacht Club Function PRESENTATION OF LIPTON CUP Another jolly dance was held in the clubhouse by the Akarana Yacht Club on Saturday evening. During the evening Mr. J. McWliirter and Mr. R. Francis, representing the Ponsonby Cruising Club, handed over the Lipton Cup, which was won during the recent contest by Valeria, the Akarana Yacht Club’s representative. Mr. T. McKay, commodore,' received the trophy, and expressed sincere thanks on behalf of his club. Members of the committee present were: Mrs. F. Jeffers, who chose navy blue georgette; Mrs. E. B.
