NGARUAWAHIA

A junior representative match was played on Paterson Park, Ngaruawahia, on Saturday between Taupiri and Hamilton. Hamilton representatives scored a win, 19 points to 9, but this does not mean that Hamilton had the game all its own way, as the play fluctuated from one side to the other. Taupiri had the better of the play nearly all through the second spell. Its forwards were superior in the loose and held their own in the lineouts, scrums and close play. But they failed to handle cofldently, and good opportunities were lost through bad passing. Austin, Snodgrass, Harris and Hazel did good work for Taupiri. The heavier team won. McDell, Lee and Pollock’s play was outstanding.
