CONSTITUTION ATTACKED

POINT CHEVALIER AND TRANSPORT BOARD OBJECTION RAISED Dissatisfaction with the present constitution of the Auckland Transport Board was expressed unanimously last evening by the Point Chevalier Businessmen's Association. The organisation intends to support Mr. G. C. Munns, M.P. for Roskill, in his contention that the board, as constituted at present, is unsatisfactory. Mr. M. DLinningliam presided at the meeting, which carried its motion of disapproval in the following terms: “The association supports Mr. Munns in his view that the Transport Board is unsatisfactorily constituted at present. In its opinion, the board should be an elected body on a ward system to prevent domination by central city interests.” f Speakers also stated dissatisfaction at the arrangement to divide the Point Chevalier tramway extension into three sections.
