FIRE BRIGADES
OLD BOYS MEET The annual meeting of the old boy* and honorary members of Fire Brigades and Salvage Corps’ Associations of New Zealand was held in the Central Fire Station, Pitt Street, recently. Mr. E. Archer presided. The president referred to the death of two comrades, the Rev. W. A. Gillam and Mr. A .Stewart, an ex-secretary, within the past few weeks. The members paid a tribute to their memory by standing in silence.
Officers were elected for the ensuing year as follow:—President, Mr. E. Archer (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs. H. Carrington and E. Austin; secretary, Mr. H. Jane (re-elected); treasurer, Mr. A. E. Eagleton (reelected) ; committee, Messrs. W. Hunt C. D. Cowan, R. H. Hunt and H. Butler. Five new members were enrolled.
