SOCIETY’S PROGRESS

ZOOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES Rapid progress by the Auckland Zoological Society brought congratulations, at a meeting yesterday, from the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon. The secretary, Mr. T. W. M. Ashby, submitted a report detailing the progress and arrangements were made to Increase membership.

Finalising the rules was discussed, and a general meeting to confirm them will be held next week. The subscription from life members was reduced to £lO 10s, and Professor J. C. Sperrin Johnson, who presided, became the first subscribing life member.

A proposed illustrated bulletin has been drawn up by the honorary editor, Mr. L, T. Griffin.
