“SPEAKEASIES” RAIDED

MAYOR OF EAST CHICAGO ARRESTED GIRL BAR-TENDERS CAUGHT (United Service) NEW YORK, Thursday. Prohibition agents have arrested 150 men and women, including the Mayor and the chief of police of East Chicago, Indiana. The agents raided scores of “speakeasies” along the lake front. They arrested SO girls who were tending bars, mostly in connection with their parents’ bootlegging operations. Thousands of gallons of beer and alcohol were seized.
