DUCAT OF SURREY ACCEPTS POSITION (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.20 a.m. LONDON, Wed. Andy Ducat, of Surrey, who is twenty-second in English cricket averages, lias accepted the Queensland Cricket Association’s offer to act as coach there.
AFRICAN CRICKETERS
Reed. 9 a.m. LONDON, Wed. The South African cricketers, in their first innings against Hampshire, made 259 (MacMillan 53, Owen-Smith 51). Hampshire replied with 168 for four wickets (Brown 75), and stums were then drawn.
Tate is unable to play against South Africa in the fifth test. His substitute is not yet announced.
