Indian Rajah Creates Sensation NOVEL INCOME EARNED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.10 a.m. DELHI, Wed. A sensation has been caused in Central India by the news that the Rajah of Jhabua, who already has eight wives, has arranged a ninth marriage with a Rajput girl, aged 18. ’ The Rajah, whose age is 54, was deprived of his powers by the Government of India in 1927. Every new wife brings him money, reward and lands from her father for her maintenance. It is alleged that the Rajah uses the money of his wives on himself. The eight wives are heart-broken.
