ELM REBEKAH LODGE

FUNCTION AT PAPAKURA o .__. The usual meeting of the Elm Rebekah Lodge No. 33 was held on Monday evening. There was a. large attendance. A vote of sympathy was passed with Bro. F. VValker in the sudden loss of his brother-in—law, Mr. R. Burgess. The meeting was brought to a close as soon as possible to enable the members to celebrate their sixth birthday at which friends from far and near were present. The lodges represented were:—Lily of Franklin, Waiuku; Bethesda, Pukekohe; Excelsior, Pukekohe; Epsom, Star of Papakura, Manchester Unity, and Papakura. Llusic for dancing was supplied‘ by Sister N. Miller, Bro. Pemberton, P.D.D.G.M., anil Mr._ P. Harglrnan. ,

The winners of the ring competition were Miss Martin (women), Mr. C. Stewart (men); Miss M. Muir and Mr. C. Stewart carried off the prizes for the “wedding competition." During the evening visitors were welcomed by Bro. D. Pemberton, P.D.D.G.M., and the Noble Grand 0! the Elm Lodge, Sister R. Dryland, presented Bro. R. Geraghty with a. glass jug and glasses on the occasion of his marriage and Wished him good luck and future happiness. Bro. Brewster, N.G. of Star of Papa.kura. Lodge, asked Bro. Patterson to accept a. small present, coupled with all good wishes. Both brothers suitably replied. 3
