NEGOTIATIONS IN PROGRESS 1 \ That investigations were nowz taking place between the New Zealand and Australian Hockey Association: with a View to a visit from another Indian Army team or a continental team to tour both countries within the next two . years. was information given to the Press yesterday by Mr. W. Bothwell, manager of the Australian hockey team, which has just concluded a tour of the Dominion. THE announcement will be welcome news to followers of hockey, be—cause the Indian team which visited New Zealand in 1926 aroused the greatest enthusiasm on account of the excellence of its play. The tour also appealed to the general public. and was a. nuirked success financially. Commenting on the Australian team Mr. Ruthwell said the visit had been a. wonderful education, and everyone had thoroughly enjoyed himself. People everywhere had been hospitable and could not have been kinder. “We are quite satisfied that the New Zealand team was two goals better than our team on the day. We have just received a. cable from the Australian executive asking us to convey their congratulations to the New Zealand Association on retaining the cup. and hoping to be able to get it for Australia when New Zealand visits us in 1931,” said Mr. Rothwell. The team leaves today on the Marama.
