When the- finance committee met: yesterday, Mr. Sharp said the society now had the support of a. number or business men and would do its best to succeed with the coneervatiie festival to be held from October 17 to October 26. The modified lines would not permit a breach of faith with. the public. The syllabus would be issued in about a. week. Before the competitions begin the prizes may be displayed in a city window for several days. With perhaps one exception, the judges will be from outside centres.
