The contests were fair, none of the boxers displaying a. great knowledge of the finer points of the boxing game. Mr. F. Burns was the referee. Results are as follow: Feather-Weight.—J. Alpin (Wellington) defeated A. J. Nagle (Auckland), by det‘au t. Light-Weight.—-C. R. Tilley, Sst 13lb (Auckland) received the decision over A. Gibson, 9st 81!) (Wellington). Both boys showed more willingness than science. but Gibson connected more clearly and often, and was very unlucky in not receiving the decision. VVelter-weight.——Hills, 1081: 411) (Well—ington)). knocked out A. ‘V. Farrow, 103: 31b (Auckland). Farrow was doing the better of the pair when he stopped a short right. which sent him to the canvas. He was up immediately, and ran into another right which sent him down again. His head struck the canvas very hard, and he was out for some minutes. Middle-weight.—-H. ’l‘.
