Miss I. CTapham, of Te Kauwliata, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. E. G. Kollo, in Hamilton. Air., Nlrs. and Miss Barkley, who are leaving Walton shortly to live in Hamilton, were the guests of honour at a very big afternon tea party in the Walton Hall recently. Songs and pleasant chat passed a very bright afternoon. Air. McLean, on behalf of their Walton friends, asked Air. and Airs. Barkley to accept a heavy travelling rug, and Aliss Barkley a silver roller calendar. “Auld Lang Syne” and hearty cheers ended the happy party. “’AT HOME ” On Tuesday afternoon Aliss Erena W’ard gave a very bright party for her guest, Aliss Barbara Humphreys, of New Plymouth. Aliss Ward was wearing a pretty frock of string-coloured lace; Aliss Humphreys’s smart frock was of black and white crepe de chine. A competition was won by Aliss Alison Bell. The other girls present were Aliss Wyn Menning, Aliss Elsie Simmons, Aliss Del Yule, Aliss Doris Clark, Aliss Kath Wilson. Aliss Nancy Taylor, Aliss Josephine Thomson (Auckland), Aliss Freena ClaytonGreene, Aliss Moreen Sergei, Aliss Lilian Valder, Aliss Esrne Noons, Aliss Bessie Vickery, Miss E. Seal, Aliss Gray Hammond, Miss Frances Peacocke, Aliss Roa Tompkins and Aliss Alary Gillies. CLAUDELAND LADIES’ GUILD The “At Home” held by the women of the Claudelands Guild on Tuesday afternoon in the Claudelands Hall was thoroughly enjoyable. The hall looked most attractive with bowls of iceland poppies. Good records were given on the gramophone and a bright competition was won , by Airs. Curling. Those present were;—Airs. IT. Val- | der.
