MR, LANSBURY CONGRATULATES BRAVE LAD

The chief excitement at the Arrowe Park Scouts’ camp today was a visit by Mr. George Lansbury, First Commissioner of Works, as the representative of the Government. Among those specially introduced to Mr. Lansbury by Lord Baden-Poweli was Scout Meachen, a New Zealander, who walks with the aid of crutches, but who wears the Cornwall Award, which is the Victoria Cross of the Scout movement, and was awarded for bravery. Mr. Lansbury congratulated Meachen, who has rows A decorations.
