HEAD HIT POLE
TRAM CONDUCTOR LEANED TOO FAR OUT INJURIES NOT SERIOUS A tram conductor, Mr. G. Crookes, leaned too far from a tramcar this morning and his head struck a centrepole He was rushed to the Auckland’ Hospital, but his injuries were not severe and, later, he was taken to his home in Meola Road, Point Chevalier. The accident happened on an outward journey shortly after 7 a.m. Ike tram was moving fairly slowly, climbing College Hill, and the force of the impact was not great. Mr. Crookes will be back on duty in a few days.
