NOT NICE TO DRINK

HAMILTON’S DIRTY WATER TOURISTS “TESTIMONIAL’' , (Front Our Own Correspondent) r HAMILTON. Thursday. “It is the filthiest water I have seen fend tasted since my arrival.” This was a tourist's testimonial to the Hamilton Borough water supply, in conversation with a Sun man today. The water supply has certainly been most, unsatisfactory during the last week and residents are eagerly await ing the time when the new water tower, filters and pumping apparatus will be in operation. A heavy slip occurred up the Waikato River about a fortnight ago, and as a result drinking water has been loaded with pumice. The effects of this had barely worn off a week or so ago when the heavy rains caused considerable soil deposits in the river, polluting the town supply still further.
