NEW COMET OBSERVED
MELBOURNE REPORT NOT VISIBLE TO NAKED EYE Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The Dominion Observatory in Wellington has received a cablegram from the Melbourne Observatory announcing that a new comet was discovered on August 2 at 22 hours 54.7 minutes. At the time of the discovery the comet’s position was: —Right ascension, 21hr 16min 4.6 sec; declination, 12deg 45min 41sec south. It had a planetary motion, and as its magnitude was of the order of 13.5 it was invisible to the naked eye.
