CESSNOCK MAN ARRESTED
CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER WOMAN RECOVERING (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) SYDNEY, Tuesday. Frederick Walker, who is employed by the Cessnock Municipal Council, was today arrested on a charge of attempted murder of Mrs. Patterson at Cessnock coalfields on August 3. Mrs. Patterson is now showing signs of recovery from her injuries. A brutal attack was made on Saturday on Mrs. Patterson, who had been married a week before to a Cessnock miner. Her skull was fractured with a hammer.
