CAR STRUCK BY TRAM
JAMMED INTO CENTREPOLE ACCIDENT IN QUEEN STREET The tram traffic was held up for some minutes in Queen Street this morning when a motor-car driven by C. J. Tucker, of Point Chevalier, in mrning from Darby Street into Queen Street was struck by a tram and jammed into a centre-pole. Although the car was damaged considerably, having the radiator badly knocked in, mudguards smashed and one wheel torn off, neither Mr. Tucker nor his passenger suffered any injury. Driving from Darby Street Mr. Tucker iutended turning to the right for Upper Queen Street. He did not notice any traffic coming from the left and proceeded to cross the road, hut was struck by a tram coming irom that direction. The car was jammed into the post, preventing the irams on either line from passing.
