"GOD IS LOVE”

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SERVICE

“Love” was the subject of the lessonsermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, Sunday, Augusht 4. The golden text was from 11. Thess., ii„ 5. “The Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.” Among the citations which comprised the lesson-sermon was the following from the Bible:—“Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” Matthew vi., 26. The lesson-sermon also included the following passage from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures,” by Mary Baker Eddy;—“God is love. Can we ask Him to be more? God is intelligence. Can we inform the infinite mind of anything He does not already comprehend? Do we expect to change perfection? Shall we plead for more at the open fount, which is pouring forth more than we expect?” (page 2).
