INJURED FOOTBALLERS
AMBULANCE MEN BUSY The two members of St. John Ambulance Brigade, on duty at Mangere Crossing on Saturday, had a very busy i afternoon. More than 20 players injured in football matches were attended to. The most serious case was that of S. Jordan, a player in the Dilworth Old Boys’ fourth grade team, against Otahuhu, who strained a ligament of one leg. After receiving medical attention ho was taken home. He will be unable to play for the remainder of the season. The condition of Mr. L. Smith, who received abdominal injuries while playing for Dominion Motors against the Vacuum Oil Company, is reported to be fairly serious. Mr. Smith, who is a married man, lives at the Shamrock Hotel. Suffering from slight concussion of the brain. Mr. C. S. Perris, a single man of 32, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital. In a game a tPirongia, Mr. Frederick Ernest Beet, aged 22, had his collarbone broken and one shoulder dislocated. He is in the Waikato Hospital.
