DEATH OF MR. W. R. J. MOODY The death occurred at Whangarei last week of Mr. William It. J. Moody, who for the last 30 years had been the Whangarei agent for the Hikurangi Coal Company. Mr. Moody, who was 56 years of aper was born at Waratah. New South Wales, and at the age of four years arrived in New Zealand with his father, the late Mr. T. P. Moody, mining engineer. During his career at Whangarei, the late Mr. Moody devoted a great deal of time to the interests of Christ Church, of which, he was organist for over 20 years. He was also a churchwarden, and at the time of his death was secretary to the vestry. He took a prominent part in effecting many church improvements, and the present pipe-organ was installed through his efforts. Mr. Moody was also a Freemason, being a member of the Whangarei Lodge. He is survived by his widow, four sons and one daughter. The sons are Messrs. Claude, Roy and Trevor Moody, of Auckland, and Kenneth Moody. of Matakohe. Mrs. Birdling. of Ruatangata, is a daughter, and Mrs. Chapman. Selwyn Road, Epsom, is a sister. Inadequate Drainage
