DIAMOND JUBILEE

GRAMMAR SCHOOL'S FUNCTIONS Ei-pupils of the Auckland Grammar School have a most enjoyable occasion awaiting them at the end of this week when the diamond jubilee celebrations of their old school arranged by the Old Boys’ Association will take place. Of the three principal functions bound to command the most interest, the first will be the jubilee ball which is to be held in the Scots Hall next Friday evening. On the following day, old boys will assemble in the school grounds under banners of attendance, afterwards marching into the school hall, where short speeches will be given. The speakers will be Professor A. P. W. Thomas, chairman of the Auckland Grammar School Board, the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, Mr. A. St. C. Brown, president of the Old Boys’ Association. and The headmas er, Mr. H. J. D. Mahon. The sports programme which has been arranged includes a School versus Old Boys football match and during the afternoon, tea and musical items will be provided. On Saturday evening a full meeting of the Old Boys’ Association will take place and will be followed immediately by a reunion smoke concert in the Masonic Hall. Princes Street.
