MOUNT ALBERT LEAGUE v | CLUB DECORATED WITH ' MAUVE AND GOLD J THIRD FUNCTION OF SEASON 1 The MQunt Albert League Football Club held its third dance of the season 1 in King George's Hall, Mount Albert, last evening. i The club colours, mauve and gold. I were effectively used to decorate the ■ hall. Miss Gladys Pearson, in lemon silk, with coffee lace; Miss Belle Little, mauve georgette, tinsel to tone; Miss Beryl Tow-ley, who wore sea green crepe de chine and silver; Miss M. Clark, who 1 chose cardinal red chenille georgette, with black sequined shawl; Miss X. Langton, who wore blue crepe de chine; Miss . Jean Cochrane, in pale green georgette, with silver girdle; Miss D. Xeale. in a frock of lime georgette, heavily treaded; Miss D. Greenbury, in green shot taffeta silk lace. Miss P. Cheeseman, pink georgette and lace and pink shawl; Miss M. Cheeseman, beige georgette over pink satin and pink shawl; Miss A. Rodgers, in jade georgette and silver lace; Miss M. Palmer, who chose green crepe de chine and lace; Miss T. Dunn, in blue beaded georgette; Miss D. Havond, wearing floral georgette of lido blue; Miss M. Jeffrey, who wore floral crepe de chine and black shawl, with sunset border; Miss Marjorie Garland, in amethyst net, relieved with sequins; Miss R. Miller, who chose flanv taffeta, with shoulder posy; Miss M. Preston, in apricot embossed velvet, uneven hem; Miss L. Hodgson, wearing apricot georgette, with uneven hem; Miss E. Meson, in shell pink crepe de chine, with georgette panels; Miss T. Townson, who wore turquoise blue satin and georgette; Mrs. Eric Rusden, who wore a ' chiffon velvet gown, with embossed china shawl. ANNIVERSARY DANCE ! THAMES CLUB CELEBRATES GOLDFIELDS OPENING ; The Druids’ Ifall, Newton, was en fete on Wednesday evening when the president and committee of the Thames Girls' Club entertained a large number of guests to celebrate the sixtysecond anniversary of the opening of the Thames goldfields. The hall was prettily decorated with multi-coloured streamers and lanterns and the club’s handsome banner was [ also a feature of the decorations. The prizes for the Monte Carlo dance were won by Mr. and Mrs. Grover. I For non-dancers a 500 tourriament [ was held, the winners being Mrs. Burdett and Mr. Reid. Morrow’s popular orchestra provided excellent dance music, which was enjoyed by all. The ladies responsible for the success of the evening were:—Mrs. P. McGregor, president, Mrs. C. R. Hutchin- ' son, Miss J. Aitken, treasurer. Miss X. 1 Surman, secretary, Mrs. T. Aitken, Mrs. J M. Kerr, Mrs. Stubbing, Mrs. Cordes, Mrs. Clarke, Mrs. Reardon, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Culpitt, Mrs. Davison, Mrs. Hubber, Mrs. Xicholls, Mrs. Rea, Mrs. Radford, Miss Reardon. POTATO SAVORIES Boil and mash some potatoes: moisten with milk; add a seasoning of salt, pepper, chopped herbs, and grated lemon rind. Have some small patty-pans buttered and dusted with fine crumbs; fill these with the potato mixture, lay a little bit of butter on the top of each, and brown them ip a moderate oven.
