RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM

“CLEAR THE DECKS” An hilarious farce comedy of the mix-ups that follows a young man’s sailing for a sea voyage under an assumed name in place of a friend is coming to the Rialto and Regent (Epsom) Theatres this evening, when “Clear the Decks,” Reginald Denny’s latest film, is to be shown. Denny is supported by a strong cast in which Olive Hasbrouck plays the feminine lead and Lucien Littlefield and Otis Harlan have the chief supporting roles. The others include Colette Merton, Brooks Benedict, Robert Anderson and Elinor Leslie. Not the least important member of the cast was a nanny-goat, untrained. The picture was adapted from the popular novel, "When the Devil was Sick,” by E. J. Rath. Joseph Henabery, one of Hollywood’s comedy wizards, directed the film. Denny demonstrates, in this comedy, that his long training on the stage fitted him to be an ideal picture star. "Thou Shalt Not Steal,” which will also be shown, is a gripping story of love and crime, starring Lillian Harvey and Dina Gralla. "The Rescue,” which is the second big attraction at both theatres, is Ronald Colman’s latest picture. This is a virile tale of life in the Java seas, based on Joseph Conrad’s novel. Colman, assisted by Lily Damita, has made it into a fine film.
