MANAGEMENT MEETING
QUESTION OF REINSTATEMENT
At a meeting of tho Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League held last evening, Mr. G. Rhodes presiding, a letter was received from the New Zealand Council of the League advising that it could not approve of the request to amend the rules whereby a player would be refused reinstatement the second time. After discussion it was decided to accept the recommendation of the advisory committee that a minute ’governing the decisions be inserted in the minute of the Auckland League. Each case is Yo refer only to local players. The New Zealand Council would endorse such a proposal. Mr. L. Binns. delegate on the New Zealand Council, reported that the English League had agreed to prohibit any home club from engaging players on future tours. The agreement is to operate for a period of 12 months after the completion of the tour. Permission was granted the Parnell Club to send a team to Huntlj*. It was decided to give the use of Carlaw Park for a match between the jockeys and barmen on Wednesday next. The Northland League’s request that a junior team be sent to Hikurang! was deferred for one week. The following draw was arranged for the Roope Rooster competition: Ponsonby v. Newton, City v. Ellerslie, Devonport v. Richmond, Marist v. Kingsland.
