COST TOO HIGH

ENGLISH CRICKET TOUR WELLINGTON’S COMPLAINT Press Association WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Wellington Cricket Association does not view the terms asked by the New Zealand Cricket Council for matches with the English team with equanimity. The sum asked for £375, is considered too much, as far as Wellington is concerned. The association expressed its willingness to pay this amount if the vacant day after the Wellington fixture is added on, and the game made a four-day match. Attention was also drawn to the fact that the dates allotted for the test in Wellington clash with the Racing Club’s big summer fixture, and it was considered that this will affect the attendance materially.
