COMMUNIST AGITATORS’ THREAT PRECAUTIONS IN EUROPE (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Wednesday. A message from Berlin says the police there have taken complete precautions against the threatened Communist disturbances on August 1. Nevertheless, they do not expect a repetition in Berlin of the May Day riots. The police will allow the Communists to hold orderly demonstrations. However, disorders are expected In the Ruhr owing to the extensive activities of the Reds and their combined agitation to prepare for civil war. Reports from Warsaw state that the Polish authorities have had imprisoned 30 Communists agitators. These were arrested chiefly at Warsaw, Vilna, Katowits and Lemberg. The Geneva correspondent of "The Times” states that throughout Switz-
erland measures have been taken to prevent the entry of foreign Communists.
Policemen with batons and swords drawn charged 250 Germans who were attempting to cross the border at Rheinfelden. Twenty-five of the Reds were wounded.
The Soviet on July 23 issued lengthy instructions and slogans prescribed by the Third (Communist) International for a “great revolutionary battle review” throughout the world today.
