Italy is sending ten racing seaplanes for the final practice over the Schneider trophy course on the Solent and will select the three best performers for the race on September. It is reported that the fastest Italian machines have reached a speed of 360 miles an hour in preliminary trials. One seaplane has front and rear engines totalling 2,000 horsepower, the pilot sitting between them.
