AUCKLAND INSTITUTE MEETS | An interesting account o£ his visit S lo Northern Meleanesia and Papua was given by Mr. W. R. McGregor last ' evening iu an address at the meeting of the Auckland Institute and Museum. f Mr. H. E. Vaile presided. ‘ Mr. McGregor, dealt with the climate and nature of the islands from j which he returned recently, and illus- • trated his observations with a series of excellent lantern slides. A second address was delivered by Professor J. A. Bartrum who, in the course of two papers, dealt with lava J formation at Muriwai and stalactites in a lava tunnel at Mount Albert.
