WESTFIELD STOCK SALE
The demand at Westfield stock sale today was steady. Top price in the cow and heifer section was secured for an extra heavy Prime cow, on account A. Commons, Put&ruru. It went tc* H. R. Brindle, Hdeodale. for £l3 15s. The offering of calves was the bigthis season, being made up largely small and fresh-dropped sorts drawn from dairy herds. Well-finished yealera met with a steady demand at a te rates, but the market for small ,n d inferior-finished sorts showed an tendency a*> the sale progressed. Top price j n the section was secured i a -finished runner, on account Y’* E- Brice, Papatoetoe, which went to Rowe, Newmarket, for £8 19s. Small iQd fresh-dropped made from ss. A line of extra choice station vealers, ° a account of J. Pratt, Hamilton, made U P to £6 9s. The market for art average yarding stud sheep opened with prices show'Og an advance of up to 3s a head on -ast week’s rate. In the first halfa °zen pens, big framed wethers, not oier-prime, on account R. Hall, Wiri, ma< *e up to 43s Gd. _____
