PROMINENT TRAINERS
G. A. Williams, the Wellsford owner-trainer, will in all probability have Gold Dial and Bell Dial racing at Epsom next month, and if he decides definitely to give them a go, the Gold Bell—Sundial sisters may-be sent down to George Webb prior to the meeting to finish their preparation at Epsom. Gold Dial is always a nuisance to the opposition over any distance, and while Bell Dial did not race up to expectations during the season just closing, she is a better
mare than her performances would indicate. She should be well suited by seme of the classes arranged on the Auckland special card. A. J. Julian, who has not been experiencing the best of health since the Auckland winter fixture, will not take his pair of pacers, Jewel Pointer and Explosion, to Christchurch. The latter is in good enough condition but Jewel Pointer is backward, and with so much bad weather, cannot get the necessary work in. The Logan Pointer horse requires plenty of work and racing before he produces his best. The trotter Special Bell, who won at Cambridge, has been taken up again in view of the approaching fixture, and was at headquarters yesterday under the charge of J. Cockle.
