THEFT OF PIGS
GAOL FOR MAORI DESTROYED TWO WHARES (From Our Oxen Correspondent) WHANG ARE I, Today. In the Whangarei Police Court this morning, before Messrs. S. Walker and FI. C. Hemphill, J.P.’s, Tamu Tai, a Maori, was charged with wilfully destroying two nikau whares, valued at £3 each, and. stealing two pigs, valued at £ 6 ss, the property of Ross Ruddell, Pakotai. Accused pleaded guilty to all charges, and was sentenced to six weeks’ hard labour.
