DYING OF STARVATION
HARROWING PICTURE OF SYDNEY UNEMPLOYED DEPUTATION TO GOVERNMENT (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 10.15 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. At a deputation which waited on. the Acting-Premier, the Hon. E. A. Buttenshaw, to discuss relief work to absorb unemployed, Mr. D. McDonald, superintendent of the Pyrmont soup kitchen, said: —“I have met hundreds of cases where men have been dying of starvation. I have seen men collapse, waiting their turn for food.”
Mr. Buttenshaw promised to consult Cabinet.
