FIRE IN SYDNEY
FACTORY EMPLOYEE AND FIREMAN HURT HEAVY DAMAGE (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) SYDNEY, Wednesday. Heavy damage resulted when fire gutted two floors of the metropolitan ice and cold storage works at Pyrmont this morning. Eight engines attended. Edgar Rae was working in the building when an explosion occurred and in trying to extinguish the flames he was severely burned. He xvas taken to the hospital. Fireman Sims was also injured when a hose recoiled, knocking him, with others, down a stairway.
