CHANGED NUMBER-PLATES

(From, Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Wednesday. Breaches of the Motor Vehicles Act were admitted by Trevor Stephen Buckett and Frederick Carvell in the Magistrate’s Court today. Buckett was charged with driving a car with a number that was not assigned to it, and driving without a licence, and Carvell was charged with aiding and abetting Buckett in the commission of the offences. Senior-Sergeant Sweeney said Buckett transferred the number plates from Carvell’s car to his car, which had not been registered this year. Both men said the car with the number plates was out of order, and as they wanted to go into the country for a day’s work they transferred the plates. Defendants were ordered to pay the costs.
