PAERATA STATION
ADDITIONS TO BE MADE (From Our Own Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Today. An intimation that authority had been given for an addition to the Paerata railway station building has been received from the Minister of Railways, the Hon. W. B. Taverner, bv Mr. J. X. Massey, M.P. A recent deputation from Paerata suggested to the Minister that improvements be effected to the station and that electric lighting be installed. The Minister has given an assurance that the alterations will be put in hand as soon as the urgent works on hand have been disposed of. The necessity for improving the lighting was recognised, but he regretted that it could not be attended to until more pressing work was disposed of. The department was installing electric lighting in its buildings as quickly as funds were available. The schedule was a formidable one, necessitating the work being spread over a period of years. Stations were being dealt with in the order of urgency, and Paerata would be attended to in due course.
