An echo of the visit to Dominion waters of 11.M.5. New Zealand Vd S heard in Parliament this afternoon when Mr. R. A Wright (Wellington Suburbs) presented a petition on behalf of a seaman named Michael Joser O’Grady, of Wellington, for monetan redress in connection with an accident he met with on the vessel as a boy of 12 and a member of a party of school children. Petitioner visited the New Zealand at Wellington on August 20 1920, and while on board inadvertently placed his left hand on on© of the small guns, so injuring his hand as to lose the index and middle lingers. When Parliament was approached subsequently on the matter sympathy was shown, but no recommendation was made, and the petitioner now asked for reconsideration of his case and monetary redress. The petition of Thomas Ormston, of Tadmoor. New youth Wales, wu* again presented to Parliament this afternoon. Petitioner seeks, special inquiry into the whole circumstances of his treatement in regard to withdrawal by the New Zealand authorities, 13 years ago, of his passport lb states that still no reason has bees furnished for the action, and that the incident still brings him under criticism in his daily affairs. The petition was peresented by the Leader of the Labour Party, Mr. H. E. Holland. The total number of signatures to petitions presented since Parliament met is 7,264.
