MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A letter Inquiring if August 31 was a favourable date in .regard to the Otago Association’s challenge for the English Trophy was received at a meeting of the control board of the Auckland Football Association, held last, evening, Mr. A. Menzies presidThe meeting decided to reply asking if other North Island Associations were fulfilling their Chatham Cup engagements. If they were, the Auckland Association had no available date until September 7. The Devonport Borough Council wrote protesting against the use of the Devonport Domain when the conditions were unsuitable for play. It was resolved to send a copy of the letter to the North Shore Club. It was decided to invite the Wellington Association to play another match in Auckland for the English Trophy, providing Auckland defeats the other challengers. The question of rescinding the relegation scheme in the senior A and B j grades was brought up. The senior division committee recommended that nothing could be done this season, but it advised that all senior clubs should be circularised with regard to reconsidering the scheme in future seasons.
