MAKE HAY WHILE SUN SHINES

l/'PSOM trainer Jack Shaw never loses an opportunity of a workout at Alexandra Park, and on Monday afternoon, finding the footing on the clay track reasonably good for fast work, he stepped out Native Prince (unhoppled) and Carmel. He was assisted in the essay by Dillon Huon, and the trio tackled a 12-furlong bout. It was a good effort, and with the pace on over the final half, the two finished on terms. Jack McKendrick’s pacer, who appeared to be out of the argument two furlongs from home, came with a surprising dash to the straight, and was going great guns at the finish. J. Shaw will leave for Addington tomorrow, where he hopes to be able to give his charges a thorough “topping-off*’ process.
