S.M.. today. After evidence was given he pleaded not guilty, and was committed for trial. Bail was allowed. Accused is to report daily to the police.— I\A. Ramp Wanted at Petone After discussing the question of erecting a ramp over the railway at Petone level-crossing on the Hutt Road, the Wellington City and Suburban Highways Board today decided to approach the Government immediately. asking that the work should be carried out at once and should be financed through the Railway Department and petrol and other highway* taxation. —P.A.
