The association was of the opinion that historic spots in the city such as •he point in Shortland Street which *as once the beach, should be marked ov suitable designs. It was considered that this was a task for the ity council, and a list of places worthy () f permanent identification is to be drawn up and passed on for consideration. Mr. G. W. Hutchinson, aeting-chair-•nan, emphasised the need of increasing the membership and the conveners of the various groups were asked to report on this question as well as on future activities.
