Long queues of people encircled the entire block around the theatre for each performance. with as many turned down at the door as admitted to the theatre. The police guard was d°ubled. but they still found dimculty in dealing with the surging crowds. FOP the first time in London six shows {to now being run daily at the New melre. consecutively from noon until midnight. Kews of “The Broadway Melody” had preceded the coming of this picture in Holland. and on the day the film Opened at. the Tuschinoki Theatre. A'nßterdam, crowds Were waiting for hour. for admission. Applause in piclure houses is an unknown factor in Hclhnd, yet frequently during the “Mn: of “The Broadway Melody," "‘0 lpoctators applauded.
