KILLED 1N QUARRY
BURIED BY EARTHFALL Press Association VVAIROA, Today. A well-known Maori, Rangi Brown, married, aged 40, was killed while working on the Public Works quarry at Opoutama, on the Wairoa—Gisborne railway construction Works late yesterday afternoon. Brown was engaged in firing shotL= high up on the slope when a large piece of rock fell from above and hit his head and he fell to the bottom of. the quarry. The shot then occurred, bringing down a. fall of earth and covering the unfortunate man. When removed Brown was found to be dead. He had evidently been killed by the rock.
