Transport Club Members Spend Bright Evening

Prizes Presented to Succcssfu l Con testan ts DANCING AND CARDS About 500 guests were present at the social held in Scots ITall last evening by the Auckland Transport Club. Alusie was supplied by Mr. Green’s orchestra, and items were contributed by the New Zealand Quartet and Aiessrs. J. Halford and Surgoneer. Air. A. S. Hayward acted as accompanist. Tennis trophies won during the past season were presented as follow: Airs. C. Brady, ladies’ club championship: Air. N. Cavayee, men’s championship: Airs. S. Al. Farrelly and Air. A. Grant, mixed doubles championship. A club collar was also presented to Air. F. C. Pace. Dancing and cards were enjoyed till a late hour, Air. At. Davies acting as master of ceremonies.

HELP FOR KINDERGARTEN

BRIDGE AFTERNOON HELD To raise funds to help the work of the Auckland Sunbeam Free Kindergarten a bridge party was held at the home of Airs. J. S. Alilne in Vincent Avenue, Remuera, on Wednesday afternoon. The rooms -were decorated with iceland poppies, yellow jonquils and wattle, which gave a most* charming and colourful effect. Alls. LAVENDER GOWN IS CHOSEN BY OTOROHANGA BRIDE

PYE—CROWE Atiss Alice Mary Crowe, the second daughter of Air. and Airs. George Crowe, of Aleadowland. Otorohanga, wore a beautiful wedding gown of lavender crepe de chine, with tulle veil and mauve cap with sprays of orange blossom, at her marriage on Wednesday to Air. Stanley John Pye, eldest son of Air. and Airs. J. H. Pye, of London, England. The Rev. E. H. Kedglev performed the ceremony in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, the bride entering on the arm of her father. The bride was attended by her sistei* Aliss Crowe, as bridesmaid, and Air. Daniel Hart, of Raglan, acted as best ma n. After the ceremony, some 40 guests sat down to the wedding breakfast in the house of the bride’s parents.
